Dec 5, 2009 I have a macbook pro, 2.4ghz intel and recently picked up logitech's x540 5.1 surround sound speakers. I know need a good external usb sound card to push the 5.1 surround sound to its fullest I've been looking around and two caught my attention so far. The Griffin Firewave (which has been discontinued) and the Creative Labs SB1090 USB Sound Blaster X-Fi. The griffin seems to be fully compatible, but I occasionally game on my windows xp bootcamp parition.
